What it does

With our dream-team blend of glycolic, tartaric, lactic and citric alpha hydroxy acids, T.L.C. Glycolic Body Lotion gently smooths and refines rough, bumpy skin while improving areas of uneven tone. A mix of antioxidant-loaded non-fragrant plant oils and butters – think green tea seed, passionfruit, apricot, marula and shea – soothes and moisturises dry, sensitive skin, while squalane, vitamin F, sodium hyaluronate and niacinamide work to create a stronger, healthier acid mantle. Powerful electrolytes (coconut fruit juice and sodium PCA) provide critical hydration and help defend against environmental stressors.

Glycolic Body Lotion is supercharged with ingredients that go beyond simple moisture, helping to strengthen and replenish a compromised skin barrier, boosting the production of vital natural moisturising factors that keep it healthy, soft and flexible – like ceramides and cholesterol – as well as helping restore and protect the water content of skin. T.L.C. Glycolic Body Lotion is formulated at an ideal pH of 3.5.  

Free of sulphates, silicones, essential oils, fragrance, dyes and drying alcohols.

Vegan.

How to use

Apply to clean, dry skin once per day. Those new to AHA exfoliation may want to start slowly, using T.L.C. Glycolic Body Lotion every other day for the first week of application. Note: slight tingling may be experienced, particularly for the first few days of application. This typically dissipates as your skin becomes adjusted. May be mixed with Sili™ Body Lotion for a milder exfoliation experience.

WARNING: Use only as directed. Avoid contact with eyes. Discontinue use immediately if irritation occurs and seek medical advice. Use a sunscreen daily while using this product and for a week after ceasing use. Product’s contact with skin must be of limited frequency or duration. Do not use on broken skin.

Ingredients

T.L.C. Framboos™ AHA blend: Glycolic plus tartaric (T), lactic (L) and citric (C) acids exfoliate built-up dead skin cells, resurfacing dull, uneven skin for a smoother, brighter, more even-looking complexion.

Marula Butter: A super-pure concentrated butter derived from marula oil and rich in antioxidant polyphenols, lipids and fatty acids that moisturises skin and provides powerful barrier protection.

Shea Butter: A concentrated butter derived from the shea fruit. Shea butter has a complex triglyceride composition that is responsible for its characteristic rich, emollient properties and skin barrier protection.

Niacinamide: Aka vitamin B3, niacinamide has a wide range of benefits, most notably its ability to improve signs of ageing (fine lines, wrinkles, loss of firmness) as well as uneven tone and texture. Research has demonstrated that niacinamide, even in low concentrations, can help strengthen a compromised skin barrier, boost skin's synthesis of ceramides and cholesterol (both essential substances in barrier health and elasticity) and improve skin's defences against water loss. 

Vitamin F: Soothing fatty acids (linolenic and linoleic) play a key role in maintaining hydration levels, improving skin texture and suppleness while soothing and improving acid mantle strength.

Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer: With a smaller molecular weight than hyaluronic acid, it is able to penetrate skin and deliver intense hydration to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and promote firmness.

Sodium PCA: A powerful electrolyte with potent antioxidant benefits, plant-derived sodium PCA is identical to the form naturally present in skin and plays a vital role in helping maintain hydration levels in skin, improving barrier strength and lipid content, soothing and protecting against environmental dehydration.

Squalane: Derived from olives, squalane is a natural moisturising factor, which means it works exactly the same as the form of squalane that is found naturally in skin. Squalane acts as both a moisturising agent and a natural antioxidant that soothes and prevents water loss from the surface of the skin without leaving behind a greasy feel.

Coconut Water: The water-light, cold-pressed portion of the coconut fruit is a rich source of electrolytes and has lightweight moisturising properties.

Virgin Marula Oil: This super-absorbable oil, high in critical antioxidants and omegas 6 and 9, helps moisturise and nourish skin for a youthful glow.

Green Tea Seed Oil: This moisturising, fatty-acid-rich oil derived from the seeds of the green tea plant contains powerful antioxidant xanthines (like caffeine) and polyphenols (such as epigallocatechin gallate, epigallocatechin and epicatechins), which play a critical role in defending skin against environmental – particularly UV-generated – free radical damage.

Coconut Oil: Derived from the coconut, coconut oil has strong moisturising properties and is a rich source of fatty acids.

Passionfruit Oil: Commonly known as maracuja oil, it’s prized for its rich moisturising properties and skin-soothing benefits.

Apricot Oil: Rich in soothing omega fatty acids 6 and 9 as well as antioxidants compounds (primarily vitamins A and E), apricot oil has a sheer texture and a lightly moisturising finish on skin.
